Redisposition of acremonium-like fungi in Hypocreales

چکیده

Acremonium is acknowledged as a highly ubiquitous genus including saprobic, parasitic, or endophytic fungi that inhabit variety of environments. Species this are extensively exploited in industrial, commercial, pharmaceutical, and biocontrol applications, proved to be rich source novel bioactive secondary metabolites. has been recognised taxonomically difficult group ascomycetes, due the reduced high plasticity morphological characters, wide ecological distribution substrate range. Recent advances molecular phylogenies, revealed polyphyletic members s. lat. belong at least three distinct orders Sordariomycetes , which numerous orders, families genera with acremonium-like morphs remain undefined. To infer phylogenetic relationships establish natural classification for taxa, systematic analyses were conducted based on large number cultures global varied substrates. A total 633 morphology, 261 ex-type from 89 countries substrates soil, plants, fungi, humans, insects, air, water examined. An overview tree loci (ITS, LSU, rpb2 ) was generated delimit families. Separate trees combined analysis four tef-1α used species generic family levels. Combined features, host associations analyses, evaluated present study currently assigned 63 genera, 14 Cephalothecales, Glomerellales Hypocreales mainly Bionectriaceae Plectosphaerellaceae Sarocladiaceae five new hypocrealean families, namely Chrysonectriaceae Neoacremoniaceae Nothoacremoniaceae Pseudoniessliaceae Valsonectriaceae . Among them, 17 combinations proposed, descriptions 65 species. Furthermore, one epitype neotype designated stabilise taxonomy use older names. Results demonstrated most grouped type alternatum backbone provided 183 39 well-supported resolved, 10 genera. Additionally, proposed potential DNA barcodes identification taxa

Redisposition of phoma-like anamorphs in Pleosporales

UNLABELLED The anamorphic genus Phoma was subdivided into nine sections based on morphological characters, and included teleomorphs in Didymella, Leptosphaeria, Pleospora and Mycosphaerella, suggesting the polyphyly of the genus. Recent molecular, phylogenetic studies led to the conclusion that Phoma should be restricted to Didymellaceae. The present study focuses on the taxonomy of excluded Ph...

IDENTIFICATION OF FUNGICOLOUS FUNGI OF IRAN I. CLADOBOTRYUM SPECIES

Basidiocarps of species of Armillaria, Russula, Lactarius and Agaricus with fungal infection were collected from different regions of Iran. Portions of infected carpophores, were taken and cultured on PDA, PCA and MEA. Fungicolous isolates were identified on the basis of morphological characters such as: color and shape of colony, morphology and branching of conidiophores, manner of proliferat...

Msi1-Like (MSIL) Proteins in Fungi

Msi1-like (MSIL) proteins, which are eukaryote-specific and contain a series of WD40 repeats, have pleiotropic roles in chromatin assembly, DNA damage repair, and regulation of nutrient/stress-sensing signaling pathways. In the fungal kingdom, the functions of MSIL proteins have been studied most intensively in the budding yeast model Saccharomyces cerevisiae, an ascomycete. Yet their functions...

An overview of the taxonomy, phylogeny, and typification of nectriaceous fungi in Cosmospora, Acremonium, Fusarium, Stilbella, and Volutella

A comprehensive phylogenetic reassessment of the ascomycete genus Cosmospora (Hypocreales, Nectriaceae) is undertaken using fresh isolates and historical strains, sequences of two protein encoding genes, the second largest subunit of RNA polymerase II (rpb2), and a new phylogenetic marker, the larger subunit of ATP citrate lyase (acl1). The result is an extensive revision of taxonomic concepts,...
